Early Childhood Development Agency Training Award
I was awarded a three year bond with ECDA during the ECDA award ceremony in 2017 after several interviews conducted by lecturers and industry professionals. This award is given to passionate and aspiring educators.
Facilitator @ MightyKids, Families & Community
The following photos were taken during a 3-day program on Technology at MKFC which was hosted and facilitated by my group mates and I. We had to plan and execute 3 days of events which included ice breakers and quizzes. This required us to have knowledge regarding event planning and organizing as well as relevant expertise on class management.
Overall, the program was a success as the teaching objectives were met. Additionally, they successfully utilized the applications introduced (VLLO & Adobe Spark) and created meaningful posters and videos.
Service Learning Project 2018
My groupmates and I facilitated an event on Numeracy concepts @ Yio Chu Kang Community Centre, together with my module lecturer and social workers from Beyond Social Services (BSS).
We had to educate children of different family backgrounds and learning abilities as well as facilitate their completion of a life-sized numeracy board game. This required us to have facilitation and liaison skills to effectively communicate with the organizers and ensure a smooth running of the event. Being compassionate was also necessary to understand the children to provide a conducive learning environment.
The event was a success as the children completed all the activities provided and were observed to be fully engaged.
Student Volunteer (Fit Fiesta)
I facilitated a healthy eating program @ PCF Sparkletots, Taman Jurong and was responsible for the creation of healthy eating plates. I had to teach and instruct children to create their own healthy eating plate.
This role required me to think on my feet and have an in depth understanding of various teaching techniques to cater to the different learning abilities of the children. Additionally, time management and communication skills were necessary to ensure the smooth running of the program.
Overall, the program was a success as the children managed to create their own healthy eating plate and understood the importance of having a balanced diet.

Co-curricular activity - Concert Band
I was in band under the trombone section and held the position of senior sergeant. I was also appointed as the section leader of the trombone section.
I was nominated for the position as my musical ability stood out from the rest and was selected as i displayed great communication and leadership skills which helped build team camaraderie.
As the section leader, I was responsible for teaching my section members different music pieces during practice. Under my tenure, my section successfully performed in numerous school events and exchange programs. We also managed to attain the Certificate of Accomplishment at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) in 2013 and 2015.
This experience as a whole allowed me to enhance my leadership and communication skills and equipped me with the right techniques to play a musical instrument
