This Tri-Fold Poster is one of the major assignments during my coursework, under the module 'CAPSTONE Project'.
In this project, my group applied skills and knowledge learnt in our diploma course where we planned, developed and implemented a 3-day program targeted at the Technology aspects in the children's lives. For instance, the pros and cons of Technology, and introducing mobile applications used to edit videos and design posters respectively.
The final phase of this project was to create and present a poster in relation to our topic of Technology. Hence, this explains the designs of Google Docs, an iPad, and Google Forms. At the end of our group presentation, we received numerous praises for the boards and our project idea.
This differentiated game is an assignment during my coursework, under the module 'Assessment and Differentiated Instructions'.
My group of 4 collaborated and assessed four children with the use of various observational tools such as Anecdotal record, Running Records and many more. With these assessment details, we planned and created a differentiated commercial game that was best suited for the children. Thus, we incorporated a number wheel and a buddy system to cater to the Social-Emotional development of the children. Afterward, we implemented the game through a demonstration during our class presentation. Lastly, we evaluated the game by focusing on the limitations, effectiveness and improvements to be made.
After presenting our game idea to my module lecturer, she provided positive comments by compliment the clear differentiation and objectives in helping the children's Social-Emotional and Intellectual developments.
In this assignment, my group members and I applied our knowledge on musical and art concepts whereby we composed a piggyback song about Healthy Eating, in the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and performed it using our DIY musical instruments that were each designed with an art element (e.g. colors, lines, etc).
I created my DIY tambourine with recycled materials, such as plastic plates and decorated it with a hand drawn sunflower colored in vibrant colours. My module lecturer and classmates were impressed with our performance and instruments as they commented that our instruments were aesthetically pleasing.
My group and I had to conduct a field trip to educate the children on the firefighting occupation. The trip was divided into three parts to give the children an in-depth understanding of the lesson.
We planned an interactive activity to educate the children on the occupation before the trip. We then liaised with the participating organisation for the actual trip. And finally held an open discussion to gauge the children's overall understanding of the lesson. This conduct required us to be proficient in event planning and organising. Good communication skills was also necessary to liaise with the participating organisation.
Overall, the field trip was a success as the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They were observed to be fully engaged throughout the field trip and actively participated in the open discussion.
I was tasked to design a poster with details of the Kindergarten 2 Graduation concert.
This required an understanding of creative poster design and the target audience involved. A good foundation in photoshop was also critical.
I then selected an appropriate theme, choose the suitable fonts and organized the layout accordingly. I also ensured that the the details were presented clearly.
The poster was well received by the audience as the content was visually appealing and informative.
I was tasked to film a pillow talk which is a video presentation where i shared about my planning and rationale behind my drama lesson. During which, I also explained the strategies I used that were inspired from the story 'The Ugly Duckling'. I was given the autonomy to decide on the setting of the presentation and opted for it to be a casual one to experience a new presentation format.
This gave me the opportunity to explore out of my comfort zone and usual formal presentation formats that I am used to. Having great communication and presentation skills along with a firm foundation in video editing allowed me to accomplish my task successfully.
I was tasked to educate the children about the water movement in plants. To do so, I designed a simple yet comprehensive experiment to aid the children with their visualisation of the concept. I further engaged the children by providing a recording worksheet to deepen their understanding.
Having prior knowledge about the children's learning ability and being well versed with the concept taught were crucial for a successful conduct. Proficiency in lesson planning also contributed significantly.
The lesson was a success as the children were fully engaged during the experiment and were able to complete the worksheet accurately.
